Combined systems protection for flat roofs:

As was described in the COOL ROOF section, the greatest problems for flat roofs are their overheating as a result of lack of ventilation and the subsequent thermal stress which, through constant expansion and contraction, causes material fatigue. Protection with Super Therm® coating handily resolves both of these problems as it protects against overheating and damage to the roof surface due to heat.

Another big problem for flat and slightly-pitched roofs which should be remembered is standing water, which, especially during winter after freezing, can seriously damage the roof surface and gradually leak into the interior.

For this type of problem we have developed combined systems to protect flat roofs which successfully cure the problem:

SPICOATINGS system:

A combination of Super Therm® and other SPI coatings.

For use only on smooth, non-flaking surfaces!

With a combination of our coatings it’s possible to create a perfect thermoinsulative and hydroinsulative system in one. The OPS combined coating system resists standing water, frost and extreme temperatures for at least 20 years without problems.

The system´s individual layers:

The layers functions:

  • Super Base – a base layer smoothing and filling in irregularities in the surface (such as in asphalt roofing materials).
  • Multi Mesh Membrane reinforcement screening – Extremely tough, it protects the OPS system against perforation and tearing under heavy load. It spreads local load across a soft underlayer.
  • Super Base - This second layer is used to cover and completely seal the MMM reinforcement screening.
  • Super Therm® (Thermoinsulating function) – By means of its ability to block solar radiation, this layer outperforms 20 cm of batt insulation, completely prevents roof overheating and extends roof lifespan, ensuring that the roof structure does not suffer expansion due to heating and the associated material fatigue. Super Therm® coating repels and blocks so much solar heat that almost none remains to heat up the roof like with ordinary insulation.
  • Enamo Grip - this last, covering layer serves as perfect hydroinsulation. This highly robust polyurethane enamel is also used to protect swimming pool walls, so protecting roofs against standing water is truly no problem for it. At the same time and thanks to its surface toughness, it protects the entire roof coating system against damage from hailstones and other assaults.

Use:

This complete roof coating system is intended for concrete, mineral, asphalt, resinous, rubbery or other unstable or soft underlayers.

On smooth, stable and metallic surfaces of flat roofs, only Super Therm® can be used alone for thermal insulation and Enamo Grip for hydroinsulation.

ELASTOTHERM:

Combined coating of Super Therm® + ELASTOCENE resinous hydroinsulation.

A thermal insulation and hydroinsulation system in one.

In case of a damaged surface with deep pits in the resinous roofing material we use Super Therm® protective coating combined with top-quality ELASTOCENE resinous hydroinsulation from INDEX. This hydroinsulation is highly elastic and has exceptional properties such as long lifespan, extreme elasticity and tensile strength. After using Super Therm® as a protective shield we gain an incomparable thermoinsulative plus hydroinsulative system with an above-standard lifespan.

System for chilly areas - HYDROTHERM:

STYREXON + ELASTOCENE + Super Therm®

In regions with predominantly cold climates and strong freezes we use a special combined system with ventilated insulation. This system is comprised of these components we distribute:

  • STYREXON is special hard vapour-permeable insulating sheet forms the basic insulating layer against frost and cold (www.styrexon.sk).
  • ELASTOCENE a highly-elastic asphalt-resin hydroinsulation forms the middle layer protecting against water leakage. (www.index-spa.com).
  • Super Therm® forms a covering insulative layer against overheating and damage from solar radiation.
